We’ve always tent-camped at Caples Lake but this was our first time staying at the cabins right on the lake. I personally hated the cabins. They were dingy, dirty, lots of bugs and webs inside….suffice it to say I did not get any sleep in it! My own tent would’ve been much more comfortable. I did hear that the resort was up for sale around this time so maybe that’s why it was in terrible condition.

BUT, the good thing about these cabins were they were RIGHT ON THE LAKE. The campground is nearby but it is across the highway. It’s a short walk but you’d have to walk across the street and the view from the campground is just nonexistent. The views from the cabins, however, were beautiful.
